Tom White joins Grady College as broadcast engineer

Our worlds are colliding as Tom White has settled into his new job as broadcast engineer for the College of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is already streamlining and revamping the production process in the Sportsource studio, control room and newsroom.
Recent alumni remember White as the teacher for Morgan County High School’s Digital Media Program. He was an invaluable partner for the Carmical Sports Media Institute in that role. He and his students worked with our “Sports Broadcast and Production” students to produce livestream broadcasts of Morgan County sports on the NFHS Network.
With Mr. White in the building, we are excited to see the enhancements he will bring to our studio shows in Athens and live-event productions around northeast Georgia.
White is a thought leader in the live production space, having written for StreamSemester.com. He has also written freelance sports content for the Morgan County Citizen. He also has a podcast: “Teaching to the Test Pattern,” a resource for instructors teaching about broadcast production.
Prior to teaching, White worked in radio promotions and marketing.
