Sports media students win a GABBY
Our “Other Side of the G” audio series was named Best Sports Program by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, beating out all other major-market outlets in Georgia, including Atlanta.
The stories — which give listeners a different perspective on UGA athletes, coaches and other sports figures — were reported by students in the “Multiplatform Storytelling for Sports” class and produced by WUGA program director Chris Shupe. They aired on WUGA, the local public radio station located on UGA’s campus.
