David Lawson joins Carmical Sports Media Institute faculty
The Carmical Sports Media Institute began the Fall 2022 semester with its newest faculty member: David Lawson. He joins UGA after teaching the principles of broadcast media and working in strategic communications at the University of Alabama. He also worked part-time with WCBI-TV in Columbus, Mississippi. He was previously an instructor at Mississippi State University. Lawson earned his Bachelor’s degree at LSU and his Master’s degree at the University of Alabama.

Lawson will be the primary instructor for our “Sports Broadcast and Production” class. He will help guide students in video storytelling techniques throughout their time in the Sports Media Certificate program. He also will teach classes in the Journalism department.
