Students in our “Introduction to Sports Reporting and Writing” class wrote profiles of competitors in the 2020 U.S. Olympic marathon trials, held in Atlanta. They also were in Atlanta on race day, covering the event live on social media.
Students cover Super Bowl media day
Students in our “Introduction to Sports Reporting and Writing” class covered Super Bowl LIII media day in Atlanta as credentialed journalists. They produced written stories, video recaps and social media posts.
UGA students cover Warrior Games
Six UGA students, three from the Sports Media Certificate program and three from the visual journalism program, covered the Department of Defense Warrior Games as credentialed journalists in June 2018. The students’ work was published in media outlets nationwide.
Sports Media students cover Olympics for TeamUSA.org
Sports Media students Emily Giambalvo and Cat Hendrick were in PyeongChang, South Korea, to cover the 2018 Winter Olympics for TeamUSA.org, the official web site of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. They produced more than 30 stories on U.S. athletes. Check out their coverage here.
